Seattle Children's Hospital

Pediatric Cardiology of Alaska is a part of Seattle Children's Heart Center.

Children, especially children with heart disease, need special attention, and we’ve been doing that for 25 years. Quality, compassionate care for children from infancy to adolescents has always been our highest priority.

Seattle Children's Pediatric Cardiology of Alaska offers the most comprehensive pediatric cardiac care services for infants, children and teens in the region. We treat all heart problems — from the less critical to the most complex.

Pediatric Cardiology of Alaska was started by Dr. David Brauner in 1983. In August 2004, Dr. Dona Brekke joined the practice.

In 2009, Pediatric Cardiology of Alaska joined the Seattle Children’s Heart Center to become Seattle Children’s Pediatric Cardiology of Alaska. The multidisciplinary team of more than 40 specialists at Seattle Children’s Heart Center works closely with parents and referring physicians to provide complete care to help every child return to active living as quickly and comfortably as possible.

Our primary mission is to be not only Alaska’s premier center for helping children with heart disease, but one of the leading centers in the nation. We have assembled a team of leaders in pediatric medicine, and our relationship with the University of Washington positions us to make groundbreaking advances.
